Our black hen is a hybrid of 3 distinct breeds. Some are completely black, while others have red feathers on their breasts, extending up to halfway up their bodies.
This strain is of medium size, easily reaching over 2.5 kg, which makes it very hardy for winter, and means that it flies very little. Although docile, this hen has a strong character. This is advantageous when faced with a predator, as she is more likely to fight.
