It requires periodic re-oiling to ensure the wood is kept healthy. Your board may be wiped clean with a damp cloth whenever necessary. It may occasionally be washed in warm soapy water, but should never be placed in an automatic dishwasher. It is easily disinfected by wiping down with a citrus wedge (lemon or lime).
